MY STORY

LUCY HARTIN PILATES

I AM LUCY AN APPI CERTIFIED
PILATES TEACHER

I specialise in menopausal, pre- and post-natal Pilates. After the birth of my first child, I went through a pelvic organ prolapse and suffered with deep
lower back pain. Many forms of exercise were now out of reach, so I focused on repairing my body through Pilates.
With carefully staged routines, gentle self discipline and lots of patience, I achieved a level of physical fitness I’d never thought possible!

Inspired to guide others through healing, I trained with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates
Institute, qualifying as a Comprehensive Matwork Instructor. Through extensive courses with Women’s Health Physiotherapists, I learnt about the needs of women at every life stage.
Now, my joy is helping others become confident and strong as they embrace their body’s natural changes.

WHY PILATES

Do you fear playing the sport you used to enjoy? Are you uncomfortable when you lift something heavy? Do you need to make frequent trips to the loo? Are you suffering from lower back pain? Childbirth and menopause can change our bodies in ways that leave us feeling fragile, weak, misaligned and exhausted.
These changes are completely natural, but they don’t need to last forever. Pilates helps you gently regain your strength, so you can get back to daily life with ease and comfort. With sustained practice, you can repair conditions of the lumbo-pelvic region, including diastasis recti, back pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and prolapse. You’ll also develop beautiful posture, a flexible back and a supple muscular system. And as you nurture a healthy body, you lay the foundation for a healthy mind. Pilates will leave you feeling peaceful, energised and grounded.

HOW PILATES WORKS

Pilates awakens the mind and body by cultivating a central core of stability - the lumbo pelvic region - through precise movements and postures that gradually increase in intensity.

Building on this foundation, you then strengthen other parts of the body. Using props to create resistance and exercising in different positions, you work deep muscles in your neck, shoulders, spine and pelvis.

As you move, you breathe in a way that keeps you mindful, calm and aware of your limits.
